My Stilo is making a clunking/rattle noise from the drives side front and back wheels when driving between 5mph and 40mph.

Once I go over 50 mph the noise stops, also no noise when I go over speed bumps, which is weird.

This noise 100% is coming from the wheel areas.

Any ideas what it is?

Thanks

Could be a wheel bearing?

Get the car in the air and rotate each wheel individually, and listen.

Is that the most likely? It is in for a service Thursday will they find that fault easy if bearings. Like I say rattles/cranks when driving under 40mph, but when on motorways nothing!?

Thanks

There's not much point playing the guessing game with issues like this.

If you don't want to check the car out yourself then you'd best pay the garage to check it for you - but you'll obviously need to tell them about.

Thanks just wanted some idea as paid out before for 'noises' with dealers and the noise still exists after three trips and three invoices! Still that was in the days of using Perrys of Amersham and Aylesbury!!

Would guess either anti rollbar links or spring.

I had a faulty NSR wheelbearing and initially this manifested itself as a loud drone through the car at a specifc speed, with tom tom speed display and cruise control, from memory it was @49mph. Then it became a more general drone. Even as play became apparent by jacking the car up and rocking the wheel, it still didn't rattle or knock.
