but at the end of the day all i did was change over engine/gearbox now it wont start///......

As far as I know/believe all Cinqs have the Fiat Code I or Code II Immobiliser System.

Basically this security system locks the ECU to the Key Control Unit and possibly the Body Computer.

As a starting point you need to put the ECU and Key Control Unit and Lock Barrels from the donor vehicle into the target vehicle. You may have to transfer Body Computers as well.

Your only other option is to send the engine ECU off to be "virginised" or have it neutered. Neutering could be an insurance issues as you are removing security and thus increasing the insurance companies risk.

In essence when and ECU, Key Control Unit, Keys and possibly Body computer are connected together in the factory they are all virgin units which the pair (mate :) sounds like fun) with each other and from that point in time they are "married" together. If any one or more of the mated parties break their alliance then the others go into a sulk and won't accept new partners!

The easiest way is to take all the components from the donor vehicle and transfer to the transplant vehicle in theory you shouldn't have a problem , as a note for all the easiest way to test if a vehicle is picking up its transponder is wrap the key in tin foil if it then puts the light on you know it was picking the transponder up :)
