no pre outs!!!

no pre outs!!!

you can adapt a normal RCA cable - cut off the plugs at one end and use the wires as a left and right. You with the wires, you need to make sure you have the right signal wire and not the grounding wire (the correct one should be in a seperate plastic sleeve).

You will have alot of crap on the amp though - becuase the normal speaker outs arent leveled like the RCA outs.

In short, it can be done above but if you are serious about having an amp and sub you might as well do it properly and get a HU with RCA outs

You can run the amp off a speaker wire, plug it into the high level input.

Alternatively buy a speaker wire to rca converter.

DONT convert your existing speaker wires to RCA. The input level is far too high!!!!

Use the high level input on your amp. Most amps have them and usually come with some type of connector for it.

you think that those wires from the 2 links above will fit the head unit in the stilo, because they might just be for the normal blaupunkt stereos and not a fiat one

Anyone have any ideas on them?

have you got your sound system manual that came with the car?
as it should have a diagram of the headunits stereo connectors and
what each pin does, its on page 38 in mine.

ive had a look and it looks like the "amplified subwoofer presence signal"
pin is not there on the cassete headunit but it is on the c.d. unit!

i am only presuming that means that it is a pre-out?
my technical knowledge is not that great but if the
the connection block is a ISO so it should fit the stilo?

further to the posts ive been having a scratch around and found this

nothing too mental, just so the sound is better than the factory fit ones.

anyone had any experience with them?

Yes buy the Alpines excellent brand and sound i had them in my punto and had no complaints!

Dunno about the ipod, but i got a 30gb creative labs mp3 player and i know they can be connected through the AUX output on a normal stereo. But if your wanting to connect it through your standard one i guess your have to do it the way you said.

cheers for the feedback, I think Alpines it is! can you post to let us know
how you get on with the wires, and when i do get round to
installing it all i will post some pics. if anyone is interested?
cheers :D

Right i got the lead through the post on friday and checked that it fitted into the back of the stereo, which is does.

I wired all the wires from the back of the head unit to the amp, but have now just got to run a wire from the battery to the amp and should be all done (y)

I'll let you know if it all works once ive got round to doing it.
