i have just bought a new cdplayer as my radio cassette come up with needing the code so thought it was a perfect time to get a cd player.

i took the old one out and used the iso conecters what came with the JVC- KDR421 and connected it to the cd player to see if it would power up before i fitted it into the dash and when i connected the cable it made a noise like they do ( as my boyfriend fitted one in his 106) but when you try turn it on nothing happens it just stays blank ... any ideas here is a photo of the iso connecters

oh sorry a punto mk 2 and what the clear rubber things on the red and yellow wires ?

nope that didnt work .. . would it make a difference if i didnt have the radio antenna adaptor yet ...

Hi I had the same problem with my cd player I got someone to put a 12v cable from the ignition barrel to the cd player. Sorted mine right out!

If it it making a noise then it is powered but not sensing the ignition (for some reason) separate the yellow wire at the clear plastic plug and connect the end going into the radio to the spare red wire in the photo capped with a black cap
Also make sure the ignition is on and you don't have to press a source button to power it on
Finally try loading a CD into it as this might encourage it to turn on

Some of the wires on the punto connect to the cars can-bus which links into the engine ECU this might be causing problems with the radio and might also prevent you from starting the car so check that you can still start the car with the radio connected
