hi all first time on here so hello to you all

right i got my son his first car a uno 1.0 ie problem is it has no power as in seems very flat and when we come to a hill its first gear and struggels to get up ive just replaced dizzy cap and rotar dose any one have any ideas thanks all

:) Hi Mitch69 and welcome to our forum!

Was it like this before you did these parts? When was it last serviced? Don’t go too far till you have sorted the ignition / timing problem as you will prob. be looking at a new Catalytic converter (cat).

hi and thanks yes it was like this b4 i did this the full story is im a mechanic and this car came in at our garage did the cam belt drove it home ect ect proble seem to get worse will strt up fine and tick over fine but your foots on the floor all the time and dose not want to go fast ie will only do 50 mph cheers
 
forgot to put if its ideling you can rev it to the max it only a problem under load

TBH I’ have a reeding age of 12 (so I’m told – But I’m really struggling to interpret your last posts.


That aside, What’s the Fuel filter Vacuum advance like?
 
You might want to check the mixture...might be running too rich. One way to check is to pull one of the spark plugs out and check condition. If the plug is covered in soot then the mixture is rich...if plug is white/grey then the mixture is too weak.

another angle to investigate is the fuel pump. Inspect the condition of the relay situated near the battery. On my turbo the relay was slightly cracked allowing moisture in. Check contact inside and replace relay if nescessary.
