I have no injector light showing on the dash when I try to start my Marea. The engine turns over normally but won't start. This is an intermittent fault as sometimes there is no problem at all. Reading and talking to others it seems its the immobiliser not switching off. No one seems to have a complete answer to rectify the problem. I've seen reports from others whose main dealer have replaced expensive bits but the problem is still there.
Does any one have the answer?

have a look in your manual. i think if its the immobiliser stopping it from starting the light on the dash flashes. You then start it useing a combination of turning the key and pushing the pedal. If theres no light at all i dont know what could be up with it.

Re: Re: No injector light

Hey Collin!!!

Having the same problem with my Marea 1.8!!!
No warning lights at all, the car will simply not start...2 weeks ago would not start for 2 days, then like nothing it started again!!! Took it to diagnostics, no problem at all!!! The car kept doing the same, and i suspected the immobilizer... Switched then to using now the red key and wow the car starts better than ever now no problems at all!!! Went to Fiat they told me is a common problem, the blue key is just wonr out and doesnt give good signal to the ECU!!! So a new set of blue keys was ordered, believe me my blue key (only got 1) is in very very very bad shape!!! Try it, hope it helps with you... Check another posting here in the forum about keys...

Thanks YoGis & Alan. My problem is similar to YoGis the code light comes on when the injector light does not it stays on and never flashes. This suggests the code has been recognised. I've tried all three keys blue and red there appears to be no difference they all fail sometimes and suceed others. The only sure thing so far seems if it won't start, if I keep trying over a period of time it will start again. The trouble has been that this has taken up to 3 days sometimes. Twice, once the engine is running, it has stopped, once it restarted, once it left me stranded and had to be towed.
I've got it booked into the dealer but its 2 weeks away and from what I've heard I don't have much confidence that they will find anything or know how to solve it even if they do.

Hey Colin

My car also took 3 days to start in one occasion...but once it starts then it doesnt turn off while driving...the times it has stopped while driving was a faulty sensor and then i got an injector light on...take it to get read the ecu...it should have stored any errors that could have caused it to stop running...
