I picked up a 96 cinq last week for the rock bottom price of 150 euros with a years NCT (irish MOT) It only has 3 gears 1st, 2nd, and reverse.
Thought the first thing to try would be to top up the Gear oil, jacked it up, screwed off the sump plug, and out plopped about half a cup full of the greyest gloopiest skitter, the sump plug being magnetic had about half an inch of gloop and bits O metal stuck to it, so I guessed I found my gearbox issue, anyway I had some 75 90 left over from filling up my T5's box, and it went in one end and out the other, looks like the seal had gone, last owner paid no attention to it and the tranny oil pissed out until the gearbox could take no more.
