but last day i washed up the motor, but it works normally about 5 hrs, then i picked off the air filter and it ran great..
then at night when i was speeding, it sounds like there isnt any fuel and it turned off..

Re: Untitled

Sounds like it could be just the fuel cut-off switch...(are you sure you have no spark?)

Depending on wether you have a mk1 or mk2, its either a button under the seat (mk1) or behind the passengers kick panel (mk2).

thanx daz

1st the button is under the seat( by the for what can we use this button)
2nd , i picked up the spark lead and put it on the enginesurface , there isnt any electricity.
so there isnt any electricity reaching the combustion chamber. its 1.6 1996

Re: thanx daz

Does the code light go out on the dash?

"i washed up the motor"
Please explain.

Re: thanx daz

i'm more worried about this "..i picked off the air filter and it ran great"

Re: thanx daz

my friend, saturday morning , i took my great bravo to the car wash , and i made a complete wash ( body, motor..) ok??
and every thing went great.
then, afternoon, i picked off (removed) the air filter, then i made arun, it wnt also greater..
then at night,i was speeding then the (like there isnt any fuel or elctricity then it goes. after 15 mins, i parked my car . after 2 hrs i tried to start the engine, but there isnt any body till the moment.
what i relized after all my tempts,is that there isnt electricity reaching the sparks.

Re: thanx daz

yes i washed the engine with waterand detergents

Re: thanx daz

You probably shouldn't use water in the engine but...

A similar thing happened to me when I hit a massive puddle in the road. Water got into the electrics around the spark plugs and the car wouldn't start. I called the RAC out and they used compressed air to remove the water and then it was fine.

Try and dry as much water as you can and try and get the car in a warm ventilated place like a garage. It should be fine if you leave it.

Re: thanx daz

ur idea sounds great, but my friend it ran great directly the motor wash for 7 hrs!!!
so if there is any water in the electronics it should dried. right?

Re: thanx daz

After I hit the puddle I still managed to drive home and it was fine. It was only the next morning it wouldn't start. I'm not sure how long it would take to dry as I had help. But I think it would take a few days.
