NO DPF? You Are nicked!

I recently read:

Italy's new highway code, will stipulate fines for drivers of diesel cars without a DPF if they enter restricted urban areas at certain times. Older Euro 2 cars might be banned from city centres. Those getting caught twice will/may get a driving ban of up to 30 days.

As I take my Croma to Italy every year looks like I'll have to keep my DPF.

Ho hum.

i think you have to go to a garage and they verify weather your car meets the regs if it does you pay the garage about £ 15 and get a sticker for your rear window that allows you to go into city centres,
all eu countries are going for this rip off, just another way to rob the motorist.
