No Claims Bonus - keeping hold them?

This is the only forum I visit (occasionally ) with an insurance forum so thought I'd ask.

My GF is wanting to go on a fleet insurance policy with her family for a year or so to save a bit of £££. So if she doesnt renew her existing policy or take out another, but goes on this fleet policy, will the 2 years NCB she has still remain hers for when she needs to take her own out again?

Or for them to remain valid, does a policy of her own need to be ongoing?

I think she'll keep her NCB, and it will go upto 3 years, but if anyone on the policy has a smack and its not protected, everyone covered with it looses their NCB

Not 100% sure though.

she'll keep her 2 years ncb, but she WONT get a 3rd year. Plus, she has to re insure a car using her NCB within 2 years or she'll loose them and have to start again

OK, so after two years they'll go. Pretty sure its only for a year so its all good and I wasn't expecting her to earn another year on the fleet policy.
