Hi all :)

I got a 2015 Fiat 500 0.9 TwinAir in February as my first car, and I'm loving it so far. I've lurked on the forum a few times for advice and troubleshooting. Since this is my first car, I want to get more familiar with it and maybe do some of the easier maintenance jobs myself. Is the Haynes Manual a good place to start, even though it doesn’t cover the TwinAir engine?

Thanks!!

Hello all.

My name is Eddie (or Ed). I'm an Irishman living and working in London. I have very recently bought a 1979 124 Spider 2000 CS2. It was imported to the UK from California in 1990 and has been in storage in a barn as part of a collection, it has never been registered or driven in the UK since being imported. I got it to start up with Easystart. but no fuel getting to the Carb and no water circulating. The fuel filter was clogged with brown sludge, I changed the filter and removed, cleaned the fuel pump then removed the fuel tank and cleaned out loads of dirt and rust then added a caustic soda solution. Someone had used plain water rather than proper coolant and all pipes/channels were clogged with limescale. When I removed the thermostat housing, it had disintegrated and Just crumbled in my hands! I'm guessing the water pump will be in a similar state. I will slowly be recommissioning the car and getting it running/driving. This forum is a fantastic source of information & advice and I'm sure that I will be on here a lot with loads of questions and queries.

I also have a 1983 X1/9 VS that I have owned since 2019.
