Newbie with major problem

Hi Guys
As you can all see i am a newbie who has just found the Fiat Forum
However I have a bit of a problem. I am on my second Punto Sporting 16v (52 plate) and the water pump has ceased obviously causing some damage when the cambelt sheared. So I have got myself a new engine to fit (less miles than mine ) however. My old engine had a sensor on top of the rocker cover and the new one does not. Is it possible to get the new engine to work and if so how? :bang:
I hope this is possible otherwise i have taken the engine out for nothing. I do have the wiring loom for the new engine without the sensor.:worship:

ya areet, easiest way if compatable is just swap the cover over, yes you will have to take the cam out etc but it should still be ok and should start providing the engine aint cattled.

Thank You. Do you have any advice on setting up the cams etc. I miss having the young lady Punto on the road and miss her

im not entirely sure on the setup of the 16v engine, when i done my cylinder head i just used the timing marks and im sorry but i cant remember where they are on them lol

Cheers for the advice. Finally got the cam carrier off now just got to set it all up and refit engine then away we go. She will live
