Newbie saying high

I have just joined as i have recently bought a Stilo 1.9 JTD multiwagon on a 03 plate.
Already had the crank sensor go so i have replaced this. Now the car will not rev above 1500 and loads of smoke out the back, not black. Have been told it could be the EGR sensor . Also the dreaded Airbag fault light is own. I just cancell this and carry on driving. Will have to sort it out soon but not paying fiat prices.

Hope i havent brought trouble. the RAC man said he wouldnt buy one unless it was really cheap.
Fingers crossed.
Doesn't hold the road that well either.

Airbag issue is easy fix, do a search you will be pleased.

Grip depends on tyres, pressures, tracking... get them checkd and set.

EGR isnt a sensor as such but a valve for exhaust gas re-circulation, it gets clogged up and a good clean up fixes that, thats also well documented in here. The JTD Stilo is probably one of the better models, ignore the AA man he know nothing. Mrs Ffoxys 1.2 has been ace, had it from new in 2003, nothing major has failed in 45,000 miles, fixed the airbag issue myself.

Try looking on other Forums, you see things you dont usually hear about... all cars have issues. Check out seatcupra.net for example, and see what Seats ( so Volkswagens too) suffer with, you wont believe it! Fiats are budget cars, the worst thing about them is that 1) they get thrashed and 2) dealers can be.... variable in knowledge!
