Mine had HG failure when I got it. That's why I got it cheap. Be warned, it's probably cheaper and easier to have a high maintenance woman with expensive tastes than it is to live with a fiat!!!

Well, guess I'm lucky I have no kids yet but my Fiat has lived up to it's badge but ah well guess it's all fun

LOL guys, I've been hearing all sorts with fiats, but as I'm a bit competent with a set of spanners I'll enjoy the ride. One thing though, found it quite interesting that the 1.2 16v doesn't have any discernible timing marks. Did get the timing tool though. Will get it sorted this weekend.

Pretty nice! I like it in white! Must say though, I'm not too sure about the headlight masks!!
It's good that you know how to work a spanner. Fiats are pretty demanding!!
I would suggest though, when you do the HG, change the cam belt and tensioner, (obviously!!), change the stat, flush the coolant and rad, make sure the fan works and follow the guide on here for filling and bleeding the system. Punto cooling systems are a HUGE pain in the ass!! As I'm STILL finding out!!!
Oh and make sure you use the red coolant.

Thanks mate, I have changed all the belts, stat and water pump. Also, the exhaust as the previous owner tried to modify it badly. I've got rad flush in it at the moment; the two stage stuff, will flush it a few times before adding the red stuff. I think that's where the problem was as the stat was clogged up.

Any ideas why the windows won't wind down? All the fuses are ok.
