Greetings all. I am new to this forum, but thought you folks may be able to help. I'm sure that you have been asked this a thousand times, but I'm needing to get a carb (or overhaul kit that includes the butterfly valves). I'm trying to help a mate get his 1990 Ducato motorhome back on the road, before his wife kills him and buries the body. Does any one have either a good 2nd hand unit or NOS. The problem with the original carb is that the lower butterfly valve (is that the right term? - it's the copper coloured disk at the bottom of the carb) is damaged / corroded, and even sealed it just floods through. Any help would be very much appreciated. My email (using my boss's address with his permission) is [email protected]. I will check this forum and thread daily, but sincerely hope that someone can help. Thanks in advance.

Hi black bob

I am more of a diesel man these days, but I will try and help. Your van is equivalent to the Talbot Express (UK badging for Peugeot) and the Citroen C25 of the same era, so widening any internet search to include these may yield more information. The petrol engine is most likely to be a PSA Group 170B or 170C, both of 1971 cc. The Carb is almost certainly a Solex, but I don't know what type.

I suggest you get in touch with the Carburettor Hospital (carburettorspecialists dot com) in Essex. I think they may do a conversion kit to replace the Solex with a superior Weber.
