General New wing mirror?

Last night while I was parked outside a friends house, some nice person hit the side of my panda, ripping off the drivers side wing mirror so it's hanging by the cable and denting the door panel quite badly.
I came outside to find this, with the culprit long gone so I could do with some advice...

Can I claim this on insurance (Will I still have to pay the excess?)
Can I buy one of these: http://www.wingmirrorshop.co.uk/panda-drivers-side-c-88_1073_1113_1114.html and fit it myself? is it easy?

Yes you can claim, it'll cost your excess which I suspect is more than the mirror cost, and will affect NCD / premiums

Ouch, really pisses me off to see that. It's probably better replacing/painting it privately than going through the insurance. A complete door mirror is only £27 on eBay. Then look around for a wing and a door, you may be lucky and get one in black, then fit yourself. Or pay the £300 excess and be shafted for the next 5 yrs for having a claim. I know what I'd do.
The worse thing about it is if you had seen the idiot that did it and chased after him/her ,any damage inflicted on him/her would see you in more trouble grrrrrr.

Quite a bit of damage there - must have made a decent bang, so there's no chance the offender didn't notice
I have a pair of Panda manual mirrors for sale - I tried them on eBay a week or two ago but never got an offer Totally unmarked/undamaged, taken from my 2007 MJ. (I replaced them with the later bigger mirrors)

I'm open to any sensible offers plus postage, payment via PayPay preferred. They're just taking up space at the bottom of my wardrobe!

I think the door may be repairable - Looks worse in the pic than it actually is.

New front wing + mirror will cost roughly £65 so will probably do that, I'm only 21, so literally can't afford to loose my NCD. :bang:

That wing sounds like a pattern part at that price. Will be awful panel gap from experience, so I'd recomend going OEM

Fiat mainly, or scrappy if you don't mind used, but they're a pig to remove in one piece as not only are they bolted in place, they're glued also
