General New wheel pillars.

Does anyone know the difference between the 2wd & 4wd wheel pillers. The control/swing arms are the same and interchangeable so must have the same size lower ball joint on the pillar.

The shocks are different so is it the mounts to the shock that are different?

I've just picked up new control/swing arms for £12 + vat from a motor factors I already have new tie rods and bidding on hubs n shocks to completely renew the front suspension & Bearings.

The pillars from the dealer are £100 and from this motor factor £20 so if no major changes common sense says £20 is a bit on the cheaper side.

If you have the parts CD you can see if the part numbers are the same, provided you have a pair of suitable VIN numbers.

They have different part no's 2 and 4wd but do you know what the differences are?

4x4 part no is 5976943 at £117 and weighs 1415gms. 2wd is 5995503 at £56 and weighs 1395gms. So the 4x4 is heavier maybe sturdier?

Just got new ball joint's instead and will have the pillers refurbed and painted they were £5 each so even better, just need to ask a mate now to press them out and new ones in.
