Technical New Sender Fitted - Erratic Needle!

Had a new speedo sender fitted yesterday but the needle is still erratic! Only starts to move @ 20-30mph mark, beyond that seems ok though. Sometimes no movement then BANG! Jumps straight to 30mph!

Any ideas?

Clean the contacts on the connector to the speedo sensor well.

How noisy is the gearbox? On the cable speedo cars, wierd speedo behaviour could be a warning of impeding differential disaster.

I was going to make a thread but since it's here my speedo too seems to be a bit weird.
From 0 to 30 she wobbles like mad, then settles down and goes "normal" from 30 onwards, is this a problem with a connector to the speedo sensor like you said fingers?

It'd be the first place I'd look: try the sender end first, then the connectors to the unit itself.
