Hey all this is my first post and im hoping you can help me!

Ive got a Fiat Punto MK2b, its 53 reg if that makes any difference.

It came with the standard Blupunkt (no idea on spelling) tape player radio.

I have purchased the facia which is fitted, the ariel adapter which is fine, 2 sets of
ISO leads and a JVC KD-R412 radio.

The radio came with its own set of leads.

Heres the pictures of:

The leads in my car

The leads that came with the radio NOTE: Ive swapped the bullet connectors, they origionally went RED-RED and YELLOW-YELLOW rather than mixed!

Now, when i had the wires RED to RED + YELLOW - YELLOW the radio made a buzzing noise (of the CD drive moving) but when i pressed the on button nothing happend, i could however press the on and eject button to do a "hard eject" as was in the manual and it would bring up "EJECT" on teh screen and eject the disk, also pressing the "DISP" button brought up the display and "0.00" (the time i think)

Yet pressing on does not turn the radio on? Ive tried with the lead the radio came with connected straight to the ISO plug from my car, and also the 2 leads i bought seperatly and i get the same buzzing but it wont turn on?

When i changed the wires RED-YELLOW nothing would work, not even the buzzing.

Any help would be brilliant as im new to this and its my first... modification. and im not very good with electrics.

Thank you!

Dont laugh at me for being thick, but the yellow coming of the bigger plug? (the one that fits to the wire coming from the dashboard)
THanks for your reply.

Cant plug the yellow into the red because there both the same connectors.

What the two that i have pointed out? If not just try different sensible combinations and the worst you will do is pop a fuse.

Yeah ive tried all possible combinations of those wires now.

I think the problem is, the red wire is labled "Ignition/Switched 12v" but there is no little pin in the ISO block thats attached to my car for that. So basically its a wire thats not being powered at all.

I have an iso adapter but its not got one in there either :(

What am i doing wrong?

Thanks
