On the radio front. there is a auto on off for the radio using the ignition because mine does, and a countdown timer to off as well, but mine is the mp3 hu so i wonder if the other hu has the same function.
Nothing lights up unless the lights are on and i must agree with you regarding the issue you mentioned.
There is a loom as such but only really for the heater swtich supply, you may have spare aircon loom if its not applicable to you, then it runs down to the fag lighrts [they are live with the ignition on] can't you use that supply?

Might be worth a looksee. Just wondering what was there as I've not had the front off yet! I haven't got a cig lighter, just a Power Socket and the Blue&Me USB socket above it under the handbrake.

I think I found the auto-off for the radio by mistake as it did happen once but e.g. when I'm taking lunch in the car it all goes quiet after 20 mins max. Crazy!
I do have aircon - guess I've pretty much got everything really ;) (Mudflaps too now, c/o S. G. Petch, for a Bipper. Perfect fit, less than RRP and much better at keeping the spray from the rear windows too and securely rivetted to the inner arch.)

Keen to dismantle things now..

right guys quick update

Got radio out **** of **** 2 seconds flat with the right tools but after getting the radio cage out I failed I couldn't find a way to pop the hazards out any ideas?

I have got a pic of the back of the radio to show the wires how do I upload them ?

can't work this out at all the fault is intermittent somedays it works some days it don't Fiat say they have no idea how to change the bulb or even get access to it I am wondering could it be a loom fault and what's the best course of action. yeah its not deadly that it don't work but for nine grand in expect it to work

Dealer should be able to sort it, 'pronto like', if not...........then happen they need retraining in how to use the diagnostic tools, and service information at their disposal.
Shame really, you get all ranges of dealers, from basic rubbish to fantastic, (I'm lucky mine is the later)............and poor dealerships damage the name of Fiat. Though to be fair same applies to all makes.
Hope you get it sorted.

In the thread "Door Lock Upgrade" I wrote this about uploading pics..

... you have to put the pics from the SD card into your pictures file on the computer (and know what they are called) then using a reply to your own message (or this one) using "Quote" so you get all the bells and whistles, click on the "Attachments" icon (paper clip) in the bar above, next to the smiley, 2 right of the letter 'A'

You then get a menu box with several empty boxes and 'Browse' after each one.
Click Browse and you get the option to go somewhere on your PC - select where your pics are located and tap on the first pic, select 'Open' (and OK if you need to).
Go back to the box and click Browse on the next box down etc. until you have loaded them all in.
Click 'Upload' and wait until you see your pics appear in 'Current Attachments'
Scroll to the bottom of the box and click 'Close This Window' (I don't know why you have to do this but keep going...)
Next, click again in the Compose box on 'Attachments' above your message and
you'll see the list of pics -click there - and this --> {ATTACH}118777{/ATTACH} will appear for all your pics (wherever your cursor is located in the text you're writing) but with square brackets (fancy ones put in here so that it shows what you will see) so click on the list and it puts them all in your message. You can then add a title next to each one and check it all in Preview Post so you're happy with the layout and spelling etc.

Also you can move where the ATTACH goes so they are next to relevant text if need be.

my dealer must be on the poor side as they think they will have to remove the dashboard and half the engine. I'll have another go my self i was trying to push the switch out from behind which did nothing although I did find a lever behind there.

Wil install my lightbar my self now incase they remove the roof or something lol

I kinda get the idea that its beginning to be a bit of a 'bigger' job than perhaps you hoped for.
Good pictures though, well done, its like the 'black art' uploading to the forum.

Is the Qubo manual or 'dualogic' ?

Keep up the good work, happen you will get it sorted soon'ishhhhhh

Cheers Qube O.

it may not be to bad a job but it may be a loom issue as it's currently working alright however I have ordered some trim tools and will crack on and change the bulb when they arrive.

my qubo is a 5 speed manual its amazing compared to my little 56 plate aygo

Result!!

Being a man, I hadn't read (well, not absorbed every detail of) the car's manuals although I had been over every page... I re-read the one about the Sound System today. It says to disable (i.e. select 'Off') the settings for Auto On/Off to make the radio go off when you switch the ignition to Off. I did this and that worked fine. I got back in the van after a stop later this morning and only after about a mile did I realise the radio was on.. (I have it on all the time I'm in the van,) and then couldn't remember if I'd turned it on. I was like a kid with an ice-cream. I stopped and went to the bank. It went off. I got back in and started up - it came on! Not so cross with Sr. Fiat now ;-)

I also went into Halfords and picked up a pair of radio removers (£5.89) and they work too. I think since I have a van there's no provision on the wiring loom (assuming it's a 'van' variant loom) for rear speakers and from the brief look at the molex in the back there are no spare wires not going into the radio although I guess the HU is a standard one for Fiorino and Qubo with 2 rear speakers in the Qubo.

I'm sure the speaker wires are at the rear SOMEWHERE as i'm convinced that the loom is the same as qubo, and as i've discovered after removing just about every cover there is there are are loads of spare connector blocks lurking taped up ready and waiting to be connected to something............someday!(y)

from what I can tell the qubo fiorino and the bipa (pug version) are all based on the same chassis so I would assume the cabling is there somewhere as the skeletons are identical and I can't see them designing two looms .

its like the aygo and the c1 look different but underneath there identical

Hi steelvper,
Not sure about that..........the Fiat has more in the way of original equipment, and add on's at the time of order. So they may have different looms as well. No doubt the information will be forthcoming from one of our friends before long.

As a general comment, most Qubo owners have said that the Fiat version is well superior to both the Citroen & Peugeot, in a number of respects.

Just wish all the dealers were as superior...........as opposed to just the 'few'.

Cheers Qube O.
