Technical new owner needs help

recently bought coupe 20valve turbo got most of the problems sorted but the electric window fault and heater fault has got me stuck

anyway my windows are bit temprimental sometimes they work sometimes not its as if neither side is getting power then five mins later all is working again for no apparent reason

also my heater blower fan has a mind of its own somtimes works somtimes doesnt and when it is working goes through the fan speeds by it self even in the off position

any help greatly appreciated

Check the switch for the windows. if you can find a coupe in a scrap yard then for then it might be worth taking the switch and swapping it over to see if it makes a difference

have tried the switches fault still continues is there a contol unit the controls both electric windows

Sounds familiar! Driver side window used to do this. Turned out in the end to be a loose wire in the multipin plug in the fusebox. Found by tracing all the cables through and wiggling the wires while my son held the switch down. Bugger of a job tho' to get to the cables behind the centre console where the door feeds split off...

ISTR that the fan speed issue can be caused by a fault in the circuit board that has the cabin air temperature sensor on (behind the little grille in the centre of the controls). I can't remember if it's just a capacitor that goes. If so, then a competent solderer could replace it. I think that buying the whole board from Fiat is quite expensive.
