Hello guys, I've just joined the forum having found you on google.

I normally restore seventies japanese motorcycles but my lovely wife has bought herself a "new" car, and with it, a winter project to keep me busy, (it's gotta be better than watching X factor) and I'm really looking forward to digging into it.........


I expect I shall be picking some brains on here for various info, so brace yourselves.

I've started the strip down but, for the sake of ordering parts, how do I find out what model it is, and where's good for stuff like glass, front panel badge, hub covers etc, and should it have a front bumper "nudge bar" ?

Loads of questions I know, but information seems thin on the ground, where do I go to find out more ?

Hi, yes your car should have front and rear nudge bars - you could have a look at the online catalogues from Axel Gerstl and Gunter Markhof- will show you what parts are applicable to your 500L.
You can also purchase a book called "Fiat 500- The Guide/La Guida"- I think the author was Alessandro Sannia which has a pretty good description of the different models which doesn't have too many errors in it.
