General New marea?

Hi guys, im new on here and thought Id ask about a Marea that Im thinking of getting.

Basically, I like the look and price of the Marea/Bravo's but am worried about the reliability of them as a whole. I owned a nearly new Tempra a few years ago and thoroughly regretted buying it as it was the biggest bile of poo ive ever owned, it suffered more breakdowns and general faults that any thing ive owned and dont want to fall into the same trap again...!

Does any one have one (especially a 5 potter petrol) and how do they find it?

Howdy bud.
I've got a 20V HLX Marea.
It's without doubt the best car I have owned for reliability barring the Uno which for some reason was bullet proof in every way. . Mind you my other cars weren't great that way. Fords and always rotten.

as far as the cars themself go. Mareas are comfortable well specced and in 20V form quick. Not the fastest in the field but they are quick, smooth and without doubt they sound beautiful.

In the 3 years I have had mine I have gone from being indifferent to italian cars to absolutley adoring them.

Its had it problems but most of these have been my fault. When I first got the car I showed it very little mechanical sympathy. But since a potentially massive repair bill, fortunatley covered by the warranty I bought with the car. I have been more gentle with it. It has been very reliable since them and to be honest I may not be as hard on her as I used to I do still give the 20V engine a good beating now and again.

Stew has pretty much rounded it up, make sure the cambelt has been changed and your good to go really.

i'm a 147 20v owner and yes they are fantastic (i've had 2!)

Owned my 20V for nearly 6 years, it was an impulse buy because of an annoying Renault I had had enough of. Love the engine, great motorway car, relaxed cruising at 70 , the 5 pot power plant has great low down power, sometimes doing 10mph and pull away in 3rd without any problems. Driven to Italy and back a few years ago without any drama. Saving my money for a new Bravo.
