General New hood

Wow that was quick ordered mine 2 days ago still in transit. I'm in no rush though going to wait for the weather to get a bit better before doing mine. I'm sure you'll be fine with installation there's some good guides here in the forum. There is also a fiat installation video on YouTube just do a search for barchetta replacement of roof. Also the hood comes with an installation guide. Let us know how you get on. Good luck(y)

That fitting could have gone better.
Everything was fine until the side piece started ripping at the bottom. There is no adjustment and it just started to poke through.
Fixed it by putting a rivet at the bottom of each side through the cloth. They need painting black now to match the hood, but it's going nowhere.

Next think is to sort out the peeling top coat. Either a respray or a wrap I think.

We just had a new mohair hood fitted. What was surprising was the hood was made by a US company.

This hood also included the short 3 or 4 inch rubber seals that are sewn into the hood at the lower B post hood corners. Our last UK hood did not have these rubber seals.

Here are the details for anybody interested.

I had my top replaced last summer. It was made in California, called Harrtz Stayfast, Sonnendeck. It is definitely an upgrade over the vinyl but expensive to install. They were an experienced trim shop but still mistakes were made. However it is no doubt much better than I would do especially since I have never done one. But I accidently left it out in the rain yesterday and sure enough there was a good size puddle in the drivers footwell. Sigh:(

Did mine last year by myself. I ordered a sonnenland hood from eBay: https://rover.ebay.com/rover/0/0/0?mpre=https://www.ebay.de/ulk/itm/122833657803

Had to replace one of the seals, but the hood is dry, even when left in the rain during a full workday. (Car is garaged over night).

Their hoods also have the small seals agter the windows, so can only recommend. Only issue I had was the instructions with poor english translations, where I opted for the forum guide instead.

For me it took 1 day, and car is dry.

Good to hear you did a good job. Well done. Speaking of seals my Barchetta is a registered 98, built in June of 97. I ordered a window seal for the right side, the vertical one, from Henk. When I received it, I found it was incorrect. The top end was tapered not squared off like the original. But the trim shop installed it anyway and really it seems to do the job. But obviously they are not all the same.
