Mount the engine where the back seat should be. Who needs passengers anyway? :D

Hehe.

This might sound strange but when you think about it the Clio V6 wasnt all to fast, and quite overpriced. How much was it when it was new, about £25,000. You can get into a nice solid Audi S3/Golf R32/3 MPS for that - not Fiat i know :D

i remember reading an article about the future of petrol engines in general, it was predicting that small turbo direct injection engines are the future, and also gave similar claims to that italiaspeed article such as more power and torque while having less emissions at the same time, so i assume this is indeed the future. i think its good for young drivers, small turbo's will be easier to tune up, all you need is a remap and you usually get good gains on a turbo engine, plus a remap is not going to be seen by insurance company. the future's bright.

Sorry but that website was full of speculation and conjuncture.

Nowhere else has mentioned a 230bhp diesel. Plus 1.8 litres? Fiat have always used 1.9 as their main diesel engine. I can't see them remaking different blocks/pistons/heads.

The new diesel engines I'm sure will be 1.9 dual turbo, in 170/180ish bhp for customers and 180/190 bhp for inhouse applications.

As i read from an article a few years back it would send you through the nearest hedge at its earliest chance.

Give me an Audi S3 or decent Bravo Diesel over it anyday

The 230 HP 1.8 engine was clearly identified as a petrol unit.

I've read other stuff about the 1.9 in 180 HP for Fiat and 190 for Alfa.

At that rate, the 2.4 will turn out 224 and 239 HP and up to 500 Nm of torque!!!

Has anyone had transmission/clutch vibration with the 1.9 mjet engine, at 1500 rpm.

Chris

The standard 1.9 multijet 130 in the punto .

Diesels will always generate vibration. At a standstill in my Stilo, i can feel a slight vibration through the pedals/gearstick/steering wheel. Its normal.

When i acclerate hard as well, the gearstick vibrates a little bit, but you can only feel it, you cant see it.

I wouldnt worry about it unless its something major
