Tuning new exhaust very LOUD

i have just fitted a new cat back system all stainless but it is so loud when i drove home from me dads i set off over 10 car alarms with it :slayer: but as i now have a new born baby not the best hing to have even for my taste its loud i like a grumble but this is sum thing else is there any way i can make it a bit quieter with like exhaust wrapping or sum thing ?? please help

Is it loud because it was designed that way or because you've not fitted it correctly? (Check for leaks -- get a friend to hold a damp cloth over the end of the exhaust while you look/feel for gas escaping). Is the manifold cracked (or was it damaged during the fitting?)

If the exhaust is made/sold.produced by someone genuine, you shouild be able to get your money back. (Sounds (ha, ha) as though it isn't to Bristish Standard). There's nothing cheap you can do that will silence it -- exhaust wrapping won't make any difference.

its a peco boxter back box

dunno bout the center box tho if i put the orignal center box back may dull the drone down ??

put the whole original exhaust back on, and sell this one.

cant do that as it sits totally wrong it sits vertical instead of horizontal

peco's always were known to be loud but i still kinda doubt it should be set car alarms off loud if fitted properly tbh.

refit it and get new gaskets this time

this is well over the 79db limit i think wer talking 80-90 + dont wanna get nicked for it ill test it as soon as i can so jam sumit in the tail pipe and lisen for a leak ?

go exhausts unlimited, get manifold to head gasket, manifold to down pipe gasket. downpipe to cat gasket.

not questioning that at all!!! If i wasn't going the for totally oem GT i'd be very tempted tbh. I even took the dump-valve off it and sourced the recirc pipe (was hard to find!!)
