I need a new exhaust for my 1999 Fiat Fiorino 1.7 TD, disabled access converted.

The old one having rusted through completely resulting in the rear silencer parting company on a recent trip to Europe.

Does anybody know if the exhaust on the disabled converted van is some kind of custom made unit or indeed off another fiat.

It exits at the right hand side of the vehicle, about half way down the van. From what I can see the exhaust on the non disabled Fiorinos (MKII) exits at rear.

Can anybody confirm this ? (Hoping the Guru of all things Fiorino Peter Pickup might be able to help)

There is a complete system available on ebay for £100. Looks like it goes the full length of the van. See link below. Luckily I have a friend in the motor trade who is a dab hand with a welder, so I'm thinking we will just have to modify it as required.

What does anybody think?

Just buy the Ebay offer, it will almost certain fit.
The reason the existing exhaust is pointing to the right side half way the car, is that the exhaust fumes don't enter the car from behind, where someone is sitting in a wheelchair or something, during loading and unloading.

I've ordered the exhaust but I think it will need to be altered.

The disabled converted vans have a lowered floor and I believe a custom fuel tank to make room for the ramp. In fact I think the ramp would prevent an exhaust exiting at the rear.

Anyway sure it can be modified if required with a little ingenuity. :)

It does now !

Quite a bit of modification required. Luckily I have a mate who is a dab hand with a welder. Quite pleased with result as the new system has no cat and just one silencer. Nice and simple. Need to fit a new gasket where it joins to the turbo, which I plan to do tomorrow. Will post some pics if I get round to it.

Not sure what you would do if you didn't have a way of fabricating your own system though. Can't see quick fit being of much use.

Got a steering rack gator to do as we'll tomorrow, ready for MOT Tuesday.
