Technical New Ducato Stop Start Alternator

Thats interesting, Thanks.
I tried it - took out F33 (which is in the dashboard fusebox by the driver's right knee, middle row, farthest to the left, 7.5a)
I didn't notice any difference though - it was still charging ok - shown by the voltmeter I have fitted on my dashboard. But the yellow engine management light and start/stop inoperative symbol still came on after a few miles. Which is presumably because of my 4x100ah secondary batteries.
So I put the fuse back in again and again disabled the engine management light by erasing the codes. Which came on again after a few miles, which it always does as long as my secondary batteries are connected.
The only way I have found to stop the engine management light coming on is to disconnect the relay connecting the secondary batteries,
with my dashboard switch. Not a big problem because I can do that for the MOT, and put up with the engine management light on the rest of the time.
Would have been nice to find a way ro keep the engine management light off though.
I think I will leave the fuse in, because with 510ah of batteries I have plenty of spare capacity and can benefit from charging them by regenerative braking. Better for the environment and my pocket
Worth knowing though, because it may be helpful to someone with only one battery, so not much spare capacity, and needing to charge it fully every time.
So Thanks again. :)

Start Stop hadn't worked since I fitted the secondary batteries
But now I have replaced the O/E Varta start/stop battery with a standard silver/dynamic varta battery
According to Tanya its not a start stop battery
But the start stop is working again and the engine management light doesn't come on, whether my secondary batteries are connected or not

PS: I am very happy with the price and service from Tanya - all the complaints I have seen have been about their courier (Yodel)
But I have found them OK - you have to bear in mind its a cheap service, the drivers have about 200 drops a day so they don't have time to hang about.

Update:
I spoke too soon because the engine management light came back on again
My 2 cheap chinese code readers were saying no fault codes so I could only assume it was my split charge set up.
But then I got a new chromebook so was able to download the free car scanner app, connected through a streetwise wifi plug from Euro Car Parts
That showed P24AE particulate matter sensor, which I have now got replaced under warranty and everything works fine.
So it seems the engine management light coming on was nothing to do with my secondary battery charging set up.
The convential split charge relay activated by the ignition switch works as well with the smart alternator as it did with the conventional alternator.
Probably better because the secondary batteries are getting charged with regenerative braking.
