G'day to all
We have just purchased a new motor home on a Fiat Ducato 3lt AMT
Would appreciate any knowledge of posible problems with this vehicle.

Regards to all and thanks to anyone who cares to reply

A really excellent vehicle to drive and use. There have been two problems with this model, one has been with the windscreen scuttle allowing the ingress of water into the engine bay. The other is a judder when reversing on grass or on an incline, this is aggravated by the reverse gear being too high. However, both of these problems may have been rectified by Fiat on your vehicle.

I too have the ducato 3 litre auto Maxi Van in NSW there seems too be no problem yet with the shuddering. Have only done about 17,000 km. Two trips so far. Onadatta Track to Lake Eyre and Sydney to Townsville. Average consumption about 11.2 L/100 at 110 - 115 kph with cruise control. 10.3 L/100 at 100 - 105 kph with cruise control. 9.6 L/100 at 100 - 105 kph without cruise control. Tyre pressure at 55 psi. Load weight about 500 kg. Have so far enjoyed the vehicle. Only problem so far was at one stage blowing a lot of smoke, e3ventually tracked down to a coil somewhere in the injection system that need re calibrating. Fixed under warranty haven't looked back since.

No there is apparently a wire coil (some sort of heater) between the turbo and the common rail. This coil heats up and controls the quantity of diesel allowed to flow. Don't know much of the new technologies but it gave all the symptoms of what I would have said was the vacume control. Apparently as the coil heats or overheats it somehow controls the air fuel mixture. Sorry best description I can give.
