Hi All,

I have a 2004 2.8L motorhome just had a new clutch put in...went to Wales last week and the clutch started slipping when going up hill 5,4,3 gear
The clutch has done less than 800 miles, what I did notice when I picked it up from the garage is the foot pedal is in the same position as when it had the old clutch in, spoke to the garage they said they also changed the slave cylinder..
Any ideas anyone....

Model
2.8 ducato
Year
2004
Mileage
38000
Get another garage to check the work was done!!! If its a hydrualic clutch the pedal position largely remains constant. Dont delay getting it back to the mender as slippage will ruin any new clutch. I wonder if somehow the wrong part has been fitted. One thing IS certain. A new clutch should not slip. Ive never known this.

It's a garage that looks after my cars and van's had one or two issues in the past but nothing major, I would trust him when he said he has done it, I seen the gearbox out... he is just back from holiday so will be taking it back to him next week, he did use a after market part from a reputable parts provider, I don't know wether I should of got genuine parts..

New clutch,
Pressure plate and friction plate or just friction plate?
Which brand fitted?

Hi Jack,
Not to sure which brand, I know it came with three parts, not to sure what they are, I will check when I go the garage, what is your recommendation??

3 parts is good , usually means friction plate , pressure plate and release bearing.

I'm sure the garage will be pretty irritated by the parts supplied to them not functioning correctly and will be looking for their supplier to replace the parts(checking the correct parts supplied ) and pay the labour to replace them.

Let us know brand of clutch parts when you know.
