hi all
had my marea weekend 100 sx [x reg] 1 week.
its got 56000 on the clock thought i should get the timing belt changed as a precaution.
while my local garage was at it, i told them they might as well change all the belts and check water pump and belt tensioner [both ok]
they charged me £153 which i think is very reasonable.

any comments?:)

Woah hold on.. They 'checked' the tensioner?

:nono:

Always REPLACE! Same for waterpump.

Basically you've been charged £150+ for changing a rubber belt. I paid less than that for the belts on my Tipo 2.0 16v and that included tensioners plus an extra balancer shaft belt that the Marea doesn't have.

False ecconomy.

hi hellcat
the garage i use looked after my 2.0 tempra for 9 years .
i never had any problems with them and they have never ripped me off,in fact, they have even done small jobs for free
so, i'll keep on using them
thanks for your advice though
