Styling New Alloys

The B has 4x98 fitment yes ? The wheels I have are 4x100 I have been looking around and I can get bolts called wobbly bolts

See link:

Fingers crossed this will work :) All I need if the bolts work is to havfe 2mm taken out of the rear center and the wheels will go on :)

All a bit of a long shot but.... got to give it a go :)

(y)

Update:

Found some bolts that will do the job :) Click for link

All I need to do now is have 1.5mm taken out of the middle of the alloy and its a go :)

I just got a set of 16 inch alloys with Micehlin Pilot Sport tyres. Had them a week and so far I'm very impressed. I went for 205/45 so the overall diameter stays the same. I expected the ride to be a bit harsher, but it's actually smoother as long as you don't hit a huge hole!

Off topic Matt but nice looking Barchetta you have there, also a very warm welcome to the site. I apologise for the delay but full of cold :yuck:

The middle bearing section is 3mm too round so the alloy wheel will not fit over it.

(Not the red arrows, I just nicked this picture from my site quickly.)

Ah! sorry mate but wouldn't be happy messing with that, the hub is what centralises the wheels not the studs so you could have all sorts of problems with wheel shimmy as a result. It's OK to add rings to make fit but not the otherway round :(

I would look elsewhere sorry.

All true :) But with a bit of work I will end up with the only B to ever have 06 Grand Punto 17" alloys :) nice 2 be a little different :) With all the crap I have been through getting my B into this condition... trust me heheeh this is not that much :)

Today I had the exhaust off and replaced the handbrake cables. My back heatshield had to come off so I could get at the handbrake linkage. Getting it off stuffed it, so putting an order in for a new one in the morning :-( Finished waxoiling the underside so thats another job thats been ticked off.

Handbrake is now working fine, so.............. fingers crossed she will pass the MOT next weekend.

I also installed some Dynamat on the front speakers. I go it free from a m8 and I have to say wow it makes a difference. I was not expecting much but it really does helps.

This months bill £753 so far spent on the B

Hey my fellow Bachetta mates,
Sorry I have not been relpying much but i was busy solving the problem in the "Front spoiler nessesary" Post.
As for the wheels, nice pics everybody! The B is a very beautiful car and since a lot of beautiful wheels are out there it makes it hard to choose. The moment I saw the OZ ones on the net I just knew they were it.
They will be here end of the month, so expect pics!
Take care all!

I just got back from taking my new alloys to see if its possible to CNC out the middle by 3mm so that it will go on the B. The good news is the engineer said he has done it before and will give it a go next week. (y)

I need to take the tyers off so he can make the changes to the alloys, so thats £25 for removing all four tyers, and another £25 after the work is done putting them back on at my local tyer garage :( .

The engineer said the alterations will be £60 if done in one / two weeks or £100 done ASAP.

Thanks to the wonders of Photoshop I'd have to say it looks OK but I'm not entirely convinced.

Sorry about the colour of the first one - I used a pic of a red one as a base.

Ah, I've just spotted that I could have used a pic of your b instead of mine. I haven't quite distorted them correctly and the pub's calling me but how's this?

Good news (y) (y) I have fitted one of the wheels tonight (y)

Its a really close but it fits on the back and front. (y) Only thing I need to check to be 100% is the plastic wheel arch was not fitted on the front when I tested the front wheel as I have been cleaning behind the inner arch and replacing a few nuts and bolts.

All I need to order now is some special 4x98 into 4x 100 bolts and locking nuts. Should be around £40

Saved me a good few quid as the tyers dont need to come off.
Nice work TJA. I should have some pics for you next week once the bolts turn up.

:) :D :) :D :) :D :) :D :)
