right then.
i have one of my xbox's networked to the PC(hard wired)through a netgear wireless router
the xbox uses SMB shares to access shared movie, musuc etc folders on the PC(running xp pro)
now nothing has really changed on the xbox or PC but lately it seems to be 'forgetting' its meant to be sharing.
on the xbox when i go into my network shares it says not found.now all the settings in the xbox are as always and it still gets rss feeds and oi can ftp into the xbox from the PC.

now again on the PC nothings really changed.t'other day i went back into the shared folder and re confirmed all the permissions etc and it worked but on re booting the xbox it was gone again

pc bods  :worship:

I have a similar setup to custard, although my xbox is wifi'd and I am using a slightly different media centre build, BUT I never suffer these issues

run spyware scans etc. and delete any unused programs from the registry (if you know how to do it, if not dont try! can **** up!) ive known spyware affect the use of out wireless broadband

Even though the shares are gone, are you still able to recognise the PC or Xbox from either one?
basically the xbox brings up 'share not found'
the xbox still has internet access so is going through the router fine and i can ftp to the xbox via the pc fine.
just seems to be the shares which im assuming is down to xp as the settings on the xbox are fine as it only needs the username/password for the pc account to log in and the pc ip.if it didnt work at all i would think something was wrong but it does work sometimes:confused:
