Have you tried to get it repaired, I blew out a tyre on the front last week and the 17 inch alloy was a mess but the tyre company heated it and reset it back and it has been fine since. The buckled alloys leave out the air slowely and sometimes we settle for pumping up repeately, so why not get it fixed and solve ANY leaking problem. I have no spare wheel and we pull the caravan in the summer. If we get a puncture its going to be funny so I'm looking for a 17 inch steel rim ( or any rim ) and I have a tyre for it but I am finding it difficult to get one. Can you take out the plastic infill piece where the spare wheels usually go and put a spare in there, I hav'nt really tried to do this as yet.(n)

Yes someone has taken it out and used the well for a wheel. I seem to remember it had to go in face up for some reason. Do a search for more info.

I recently bought a brand new 17inch wheel for 100pounds on e.bay and plan to swap it for a kerbed wheel which I will use as a spare. Need to buy a suitable jack and wheel brace too.

Well I have that sorted I got a good wheelbrace in Halfords 10 quid and got an old sissors jack. I had to cut out a small section OF THE PLASTIC on the lifting sections under the car to let the jack go up to the metal lifting POINTS.
