Just got a 1996 N reg Ulysses diesel, Cannot find the fusebox the handbook says under the steering wheel but just got a small cuby hole thing instead.
The digital clock above the mirror cannot be seen but shine a light on it and can see its working..how does that come apart?
The heater controls dont have any backlight at night (bulbs poss) but cannot see how it comes apart.
Seem to be missing a control on heater " fresh air or recirulating lever" got the slot for it but no lever/knob.
Previous owner has plug in cigarette lighter with wires disappearing under dash so the heater fan runs using the sliding control as normal..remove plug and no fan.
Apart from that its a cool vehicle now its had a good valet.

Any help would be fantastic.

Cheers Martin.:)

Hi Martin,

The elusive fusebox is actually behind the glovebox. Pop the whole box off its hinges and you will see a blck fascia plate with a lightning / electricity warning symbol on it. Prise this off and presto - the missing fusebox. Confused the hell out of me for long enough too!!
Cant help with the clock - mine is on the blink and havent figure out how to get in there either yet...
The heater lights are also a bit fiddly - try giving them a thump, connections can be dodgy.
Good luck and happy motoring - I've had my 98 plate 2.0 EL for just over 2 years now and love it.

Cheers Ant, will check it out as soon as i get a free minute (all work no play at the mo) My ex wife used to have a Uno years ago and that was full of strange quirky electrical gremlins but boy did it shift.
Cheers.

Hi,
The unit on the roof housing the clock will come off, I think you remove clear plastic cover and find screws under them, not too sure, its been a while since I did mine and sold it before the summer.Sounds like the bulb behind the display has gone, twist off and replace bulb. heater controls are always dodgy,

Hey Digger,
Spot on with the clock backlight bulb, removed the clear plastic cover and the grey one in front aswell, four screws then two to remove clock unit then twist off bulbholder, new bulb and let there be light!
Looks like everything on a fiat is clipped in with no obvious way in except the blade of a screwdriver.
Ant, spot on with the fusebox mate iv'e found it right where you said it is sadly no fuses gone so further investigation for the heater control needed.
Cheers lads.
