There isnt any e mark or type approved mentioned on that last link either.

I done this to make my car more visible to other road users, other road users can see the car far better than the standard sidelights, so you dont have people pulling out in front of you because they couldnt see you i.e; somebody pulling out of a junction with the sun blinding them and not being able to see the car coming.

I rest my case on that one, you got a valid point there the more your car is visible to other road users the better.

Doesnt make them legal though. I'm not against you guys by any means, I'm all or DRLs and have Ring BRL0397's fitted to my motors. They're proper DRLs and are E marked and type approved.

Tbh side lights are only possition lamps designed to be used when parked only really, although are acceptable for use at night in built up residential areas. Either need to use dipped beam or a decent aftermarket DRL kit like some that ring produce, and most of their stuff is E marked unless they say otherwise from experience. Just make sure you keep yourselfs legal that's all :)
