I've got lockwood dials fitted to my car.

To take the black part off from around the dials is simple, look carefully on the edges, the screen and black part is clipped onto the dials (white part).

Several clips need to be loosened and it comes off.

You DO require to cut your black dials unfortunately so do it carefully and take your time.

I recommend you cut the dials off first with a stanley knife. If you do it neat enough your can re use them at a later time if you need too.

Now its best to have a friend with you on this next part.

You can easily remove and fit your new dials to your temperature and fuel gauge.

This is where it gets tricky, so do the speedo or rev counter one at a time.

So what you need to do is remove the needle rest pin, use a cloth and some pliars so not to damage the pin and pull it out. Your friend should carefully hold the needle for you at a position so that the needle doesn't move or spin round. Now stick the small circular black piece of plastic under the needle with the sticky face down and make sure its even. Then cut off the excess lip.
Now fit the new dial over the needle and into position, gentle tighten the screws and refit the pin and then ask your mate to let go and the needle will rest on the pin again.

Do the same for the other dial either rev counter or Speedo.

If you need any more help email me at [email protected]

Have fun and take care.

I done my dials last week, i found it soo easy, i didnt need a mate though, you can put the new dials over the needle without moving it and withouta mate just at an angleits easy. i left my black dials on looks really good in the dark as only a little light gets thru from around the needle, the edge of the dial, inner of the dial looks good.

re:need some help

you did not take your old dials out?

just put the new ones on?
