Need some advice!

Hi all, we have a 1.2 8v punto 2003 new shape and we are having a headache with the lights. If you drive the car with either the lights on or off, when you stop and turn the engine off and remove the key the sidelights come on and stay on. At first I thought I was leaving the indicator on but it wasnt that, I have tried sitting and waiting to see if it was a setting where the lights stayed for a set time before switching themselves off but nothing. All of the light functions work and do what that should but just stay on...... Any ideas anyone?

you are taking the key one 'click' to far
turn the key all the way and then try moving it back a bit and removing it
if you look on the barrel theres a little plastic button
you should have to push that button in to allow you to move the key further and set the sidelights to stay on

(the above is assuming its like the cinqs)
