Hey guys, i have an 03' mk2b punto 1.4 sporting and have decided to tint my rear lights.
One problem though, i've been reading different articles about tinting, some saying about you must show your reflectors to be legal and what not, but im not too sure about wether i can mask all of my lights or not as with the mk2b it has two reflectors on the bumper as well as reflectors on the lights.
So what im wondering is, can i tint all of my lights but leave the bumper reflectors and not get pulled for it?
I've heard some people say that you can tint your whole light (mk2's) but you must have two stick on reflectors.. so im a bit confused, help required please:bang:!
Thanks (y)

This isn't mine but its the same model, do you think i would be alright tinting the whole light as there are two little reflectors on the bumper?:confused:

thanks mate just wanted to make sure (y)

any reason for leaving indicator untinted or just personal pref?
if its cos of the colour changing thing you get with some sprays its ok cos i've seen omp tint spray which doesnt change the colour at all. ftw! :)

just personal prefrence
i think the 2b lights look good as they are
mine are fully tinted and the lights shine through the correct colour

Hello. I would also remember to do severel small coats rather than a few long, thick coats. This ensures that the paint won't run when spraying
Also ensure that the can is warm before you spray, you can solve this by getting a washing up bowl filled with hot water and put the tinting spraying in it upright for 10 minutes for the spray to get warm.
This will prevent running even more, for the best finish. Dan :)

Personally I'd leave them.

If you must then the above advice is good, as well as:

- wiping them with alcohol wipes before painting (avoids reactions)
- spraying in warm, dry conditions
- spraying in a dust free environment

yeah that might look really cool toad, maybe do a mock up on photoshop ;p
thanks for the tips karbine, was gonna ask somebody bout that lol.. i have an outside converted garage with a large bathroom so should be ok in there..
any tips on the actual spraying? not too sure how to do it top to bottom?side to side? any advice would be appreciated mate. nice punto btw, im gonna be doing mine to be a bit of an abarth tribute, should turn out quite wel i hope. im trying to find a new exhaust system, saw a nice ashley one that sounded the nuts on youtube, but its ridiculous trying to find bits for the mk2b!
n will upload pics of my new lights n black side repeaters when i the bits in the post .. ordered em today so should be here midweek..
Hey richie thanks for the advice mate. gonna be getting some 35mm apex springs soon and want to give my punto a bit more of a wide stance with some wheel spacers to fill the arches until i can get some new wheels, was wondering though, how do they affect handling?
thanks
