Hi, Hello to all forum members. I have a Punto mk1 year 99 s60. I changed the bulbs on the dashboard and the airbag light came on. The ignition switch was turned off though, but I didn't unplugged the battery.

I want to buy a scanner to cancel the fault code of the airbag and also to use it for sensor testing. What scanner do you recommend To buy that will fit my needs?
I found this scanner:
club.dx.com/reviews/text/126938

Sorry about the link, I can't post link.

And this 3 pins adapter:
dx.com/p/3-pin-to-16-pin-obd-2-diagnostic-cable-for-fiat-116434?item=4

Will that be O.K or do you recommend another one?

Thank you in advance

Hello blu73 and thank you for your response.
In all this mighty forum no one has ever managed to attach an appropriate universal scanner for Punto MK1 to reset fault code?
Do I need to go to fiat garage every time airbag light turns on, or to diagnose a faulty sensor?
There is realy no solution for the MK1?:(

If it is indeed mk1 Punto with the IAW 16F ECU, then the airbag system is totally separate from the engine ECU system, I am guessing. What follows is that the 3-pin adapter will not help you, because this is only to get to the engine ECU. Unless it is a newer ECU then Fiat ECU Scan might do the trick, but this goes beyond my expertise I am afraid.

Thank you woj, yes I have IAW 16F.E3 ECU and only one airbag (for the driver) and the airbag ECU is under the radio (little bit deeper) with a yellow cable and a 3 pins connector.
I guess I'm screwed with this one. "No soup for me"..:bang:
Thank you guys for your help and have a nice day.

In that case the cable might actaully work, the question is the software, and for that I do not have an answer, but you may still want to check out what "Fiat ECU Scan" offers.
