Hi everyone..

I have a punto s60 model 2000 single injection engine code 176B4000, the cylinder head have a crack.

The head can't be fixed (leek around the valve).

The guy in the workshop sold me a resurfaced head.

I have 2 questions:

1. The old head and the new one having the same serial 46400108 mark on them and B469 next to lancia logo, but they having different number in the other side next to the s73 mark, the old head have mark 23 and the new have 40. they are identical? can I use it?

2. The job on this head doesn't looking very precise to me, what do you think, should I use it or return it?

That looks dreadful. I've no idea why anyone would put a die grinder at the top of the combustion chamber unless they were trying to reduce compression.

The SPI heads (Single Port Injection) are to all prectical purposes identical, 1108 (Cinq Sporting, early Sei Sporting, and P55) being the same as the P60. So, you can probably pick up a damn fine second hand head very easily.

Your English is a lot better than some of the posters here whose first language is (apparently) English.

Thank you fingers99 for your help, I will return this head.

I will buy a used head and will send it to another workshop, more pricey but have no choice.

In my area it's not easy to find a decent used cylinder head.

Thanks again.

I think it was made in the engines and cylinder heads workshop that sold this head to me.
It's a bit awkward cause this workshop fixing engines since 1957 to all of the garages in the area.
Maybe this head is a lost one that seeking badly for an engine. or it was used for grinding practice, this is realy a riddle.
I'll get to the bottom of this on Sunday when I'll get there.
Thanks guys I strengthened my mind with your comments.
