Tuning Need help finding a decat manifold for my 1.4 8v grande punto

looking for a decat manifold for my grande punto 1.4 8v. can only find ones for 1.2 8v and 1.2 16v's and wondered if these would fit?

16v won't. 1.2 8v should. You might talk to John Ashley.

For -- fairly -- obvious reasons there's little tuning nous on the 1.4 8v. Polish attempts so far seem to have resulted in blown engines (but maybe they were pushing the envelope a little too far).

The big but is that you're unlikely to find any real power and MOT man and VOSA will have a fit.

The subject of increasing performance on the 1.4 8v has been covered many times in the past.
You'd be much better off saving any of your disposable income and putting it towards a faster car.

In all honesty, you'll get more power out of it by removing the rear seats, running it on half a tank of fuel and leaving the girl friend at home.
You'll get absolutely nothing out of the 1.4 8v without spending thousands £££.

The john ashley decat manifold for a mk2 1.2 8v will fit however it's £170 and you'll need a new manifold-back or you'll have to sleeve the old exhaust onto part of an mk2 center section which then join to the manifold since the joint is facing the wrong way

I spend thousands on my 1.2, I must have had 80bhp at most (it beat an 1.4 8v)

I recently got a 1.9 mjet and if I could go back and not spend a single penny on the 1.2 I would do, the 1.9 pulls like a train on it's own for what it is, I've got a remap booked soon with a couple cheap supporting mods and it will easily see 170bhp, could go more but would ruin the gearbox.

please save your money mate i've been there and wasted all the money and seriously you will not get any decent power from it, and with all that money spend you'll still be beat by almost any 1.5 diesel.

Just get a different back box for sound since the 1.2 and 1.4 doesn't have a mid resonator, however if you do waste your money and get the John Ashley decat manifold it will be loud!
However there is nothing worse than being loud and not actually being able to accelerate at a decent pace, it just looks wrong mate I felt like a right nob in the old gp

Yeah, that would be hideously loud and painfully slow.

Unless a car is quick enough to back up its noise, keep it quiet.
