Hi there, i was driving along in my 2001 mk2 punto 1,2elx, and i heard a little clonk and all of a sudden there was no power and also wont start, the timing belt has broke on it, but only half of it has broke ie it has half the width it should have, i have had a lot of people telling me i will need a new engine cos of my valves might be bent? is this true? because i thought this could only happen if i snapped the belt off completly? as half of the width of the belt is still intact i cant see this happening? is it possible for somebody to tell me what i would do to change the timing belt? and what all the timing is? how everything is set etc, as me without a car is like being without a phone! thanks guys would be much appreciative if you could reply hopefully wont need a new engine!:bang::bang::bang::bang::bang::bang:
