Thanks

Thank you for quick answer, I'll try and get my head around what is needed. Bit of a newbie to the OBD
Cheers

Hi,
as Maigretnz says Multiecuscan and an ELM 27 to USB interface is about the best option. You will need a laptop too but anything running windows XP or later will do.
A good UK supplier for a lead is http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/271275445368
What year and engine is your Stilo? with that info we can give more detailed info on what you need. Some variations will allow engine ECU access with the demo version of MES.

Yep, just as Kev says, you can buy them modified already. I have one of these too:

You don't need the 3 adapter cables to talk to body computer, engine ECU or reset service interval, so don't spend the money on them unless you need.

You can check the supported vehicle list for MultiECUScan to see what can be done and with what cable. Note that anything listed in black is available to do on the free version of MultiECUScan, anything in red requires the licenced version - which is about £40.

The ELM 327 on ebay UK I linked to is pre-modified so no messing around. I'm an electronics engineer & hobbyist and don't think it's worth the £10 saving given the faffing around, especially if the case is glued shut, plus you are typically dealing with a far eastern seller with dubious delivery and support.
