Hi all

2009 punto Grande had my tyres replaced last week and since then it doesn't feel as fast and if I'm not accelerating the car feels like it's slowing. Ive got no warning lights on for the brakes.

Hope this makes some sense!

Thanks for reading

Tyres changed for the same size ?
On a flat hard surface (garage) can you move the car by hand quite easily ?

Sorry if this is quite a vague question I'm not the most car minded :)

Ok tyres. I've been out and checked and it appears they have fitted a different size! Originally it had 175/65 R15 but now I appear to have 185/65 R15. I know nothing about tyres but could this be the issue?

I'll try the push test later today. Thanks

Your new tyres are a bit wider so their Rolling resistance is a bit higher too.
Has the width is bigger, the tyre heigth is also taller, so the development (length per turn)is also bigger, in your case by about 2%.
Your new tyres may be softer, increasing again the rolling resistance; maybe they were not inflated with the right pressure as well ... Finally as they are bigger, they will make less rotation for the same distance: speedo and podometer will indicate less speed / mile driven.
All those added together will probably be enough to feel a difference...
