General NEC Restoration Show 12-13th April

I've heard a lot about this - it's supposed to be really good. I'd like to go one year - but I'm too keen to un-restore mine in the Dales this year

Maybe next time! Sounds like the makings of a good one.

A Topolino?! Can those of us who won't be able to make it get some preview snaps?

I've had more contact with the organisers today, and everything looks like it's ok. I've sent them a copy of the insurance (£228 if I couldn't prove adequate cover  ). I'm waiting for the amended contract to arrive, but apart from that it's all systems go. (y)

We do need people to help on the stand, even if only for a couple of hours. There will be plenty of opportunity to help with Pinky too of course, so don't be shy......... :worship:

Also if anyone can lay their hands on some police crime scene tape (which would be very  ), pull out barriers, chains, or similar, please let us know. We will need something I think, so if there's a chance of minimising the cost that would be great. (y)

I've been thinking it over and it seems that this is going to be too good to miss, therefore I''ve decided to drop out of the Yorkshire weekend and will be coming to be NEC. I'm available both days so I'm more than happy to help out on the stand as much or as little as needed:)

Thanks Freddy that will help alot. (y)

At least AndyPanda4x4 won't be losing a Panda. ;)

Congratulations Lewey! About time! :slayer:

Just a quick update. The insurance has been accepted by the NEC, and I have signed the contract for space (now that the £220 odd insurance cost has been removed). Looks like it's official VmanC ! (y)

Thanks to homeward for being bored & looking up barriers :worship: He found this What do you think Vern? It looks like it might be a cheap (£16 for a week) solution to keeping idiots away from the side you're working on? The spec says 5m but the safety instructions say 4m - I think either will be long enough to screen off any one side of Pinky? Anyway, if it's hired as 5m and turns out to be 4m I might get my money back when I complain........ ;)

Glad to be of service...! [We need a 'doffs cap/tugs forelock' emoticon!] :worship:

Is that £16 for one post? Because I think we'd need at least 4 posts.

It's not clear is it...?!

Rats, blooming shifts! I'm working Saturday and on-call on Sunday. Don't know if I can (mis)appropriate some crime scene tape but I've got this on my desk. ImageUploadedByFIAT Forum1394051863.820896.jpg

For 1 barrier,

Yes it's one barrier Stiggy's right! So 2 posts with 5m (or 4m maybe) of tape. Should be enough for any one side of a Panda, so it's the best I've seen yet!

Love the crime scene tape though - liberate that and a couple of traffic cones and we're in business! (y) been a long time since I've ended up with a traffic cone after a night out, or anything (or anyone) more interesting either.... (n)

Here's a thought. You've probably all seen that every hedge/ditch/verge seems to contain road cones that have gone feral, well if a few of you each take one to the show you should be able to make a barrier. I don't think you'll get done for theft as long as you intend to put them back where you found them.
