I agree... too many drive like there will be nothing to hit or skid on round the next bend, I agree totally with adi. (y)

Jeez Louise.

1) It is a dual carriageway therefore the speed limit it 70mph so i have a right to go over 20mph which would have be speed to stop in time really wouldn't it.

2) It has no hazard lights on a dual carriageway a car looks as if it is moving until you are up close to it, right?

3) I don't speed round bends or anything im always getting told by people i go too slow round bends sometimes lol because i actually hate going round a bend i do not know or know how much of a bend it is/whats on other side etc.

4) Cars after i had gotten around the car were having to stop quickly for the car.

I know how to drive thank you i think im quite an aware and careful driver i hate chavs and people who drive fast like d**ks so i am not one of them.

So i can't wait for you to crash and when you say it isn't your fault, i can't wait to be first to criticise it :p people need to take a chill pill and stop thinking there the best drivers and no everything, when everyone makes mistakes and im sure when you've done something car behind or whatever has thought your a right prat.

I just crashed... wasnt my fault... engine from a jumbo jet fell onto my roof and I got distracted for a second or 2... :D

I'm with misssporty500 on this one. Last year I got onto a dual carrage way from a slip road, went to then over take, it was clear and indicated and pulled out to over take. I check blind spot, pulled out and then had (and this was a WTF moment) metal double glazing frame fly under my car. It then came out the back, got thrown up and hit the Corsa van tht pulled out to over take behind me and smacked his front.

You could say why didn't I see it or stop/ slow down. Well Because I done my blind spot glance I didn't see it coming. Things happen, and yes in retro spect you can say, well I could have done this or that.

At the end of the day we all learn from our own (and with the joys of FF, other peoples) experiences. What is done is done, and there is no point in having a right go at someone. I'm sure the experience tought them a better lesson then you all moaning at them could!

I did emergency stop i was so close to hitting it i must of stopped an inch away, looked in my mirror and the car behind was so close to me :(

I rang my mum to warn her because she goes that way home, she already knew about it supponsly there was a robbery in Lewes and the police were chasing them, they abandoned the car there and ran.


Grrr stupid place to on a dual carriageway. Made my heart jump into my stomach :(

No. The speed limit is exactly that, a limit. It does not give any indication of the safe sped of travel.

Can't say that I've ever noticed a stationary vehicle to look as if it isn't moving. Proof though that we only see what we expect to see.

If you can't stop in the space you can see to be clear then you're going too fast. Irrespective of any statutory limit.

I've been in several crashes (and at fault in more than one). The difference being I accepted that it was my fault and learnt from my mistakes.

seems to me like it was a bad experience. Your points are all valid but you're being far too harsh. After all,the thread doesn't say "I crashed my 500" it says "nearly" which means she avoided it, which means she was obviously driving sensibly enough to stop in time of spotting the vehicle causing the obstruction. I hold a police cat license and have done all the advanced driving ****...you can still make honest mistakes...be nice! :)

lol, i'm not a policeman...just hold a police licence...its the IAM advanced motorists course and then an additional module which includes driving at speed which allows you to drive a panda car with the blues running (y)

But overal police aren't bad...other than when they gave me a 30 quid fine the other day...bastards :cry:

Yup, you have a nice cute car and you're all a bunch of arseholes :p looks can quite clearly be decieving!
