Names Wrong

I've added my other half to my policy for a month so she can get some more experience with me

However i've got my letter through today covering her with abit of paper

Checked it and they've spelt her surname wrong, will i need to ring up and change it?

yes , as of now She is not insured on the car mrs spelled wrong last name is ,

what happens if she gets stopped and asked for Drivers licence , gets checked comes back to being insured as mrs Smitt and her name is mrs Smith... she will get done for no insurance

Definitely worth getting it right and maybe the company would benefit from knowing one of their team is not being accurate.

Its easily done mistake, she's not spelt like the well known brand that sounds the same

its got a silent U in in

Eitherway after waiting 10mins and a 3min to sort it, because its only a temporary change to the policy they cant update that - but they've updated it in the notes, so they are aware its spelt inncorrectly and it means she's perfectly fine to drive still

So 15min and its all good!

I work for an insurer, have done for more than 5 years, whilst completing my studies.

You should phone and tell them, they will correct it and issue replacement documents at no charge. You don't need to worry though, it 100% does not invalidate your insurance. It's a simple spelling error.
