Not much to go on, but I am thinking a possible main chassis earth problem.
The battery negative connection on the x244 drops to an M8 bolt in front of the RHS engine mounting. The chassis earth is via a flag terminal connecting to this bolt. The cable continues under the inter-cooler and radiator to connect to a starter motor stud at the bell housing, and form the engine block earth.
Corrosion can occur inside the flag terminal, degrading the chassis earth, on which most items other than the starter motor depend.
