Re: My Cleaned Euro Stilo

How much were they if you dont mind me asking?

not at all mate, they were about £580 if i remember, because they are actually PVC, not leather,
i went for the cheaper option because i was planning on selling up this year, but now i think im keeping it and maybe going for a colour change, so if i want to change the colour of the interior, i will probs have leather this time

So your profile is incorrect.

It should say, Red seat covers not Leather re-trim.

So when you go for a colour change are you getting leather seat covers or a proper leather re-trim?

Well it should say PVC retrim, because thats what it is, but they are removable yes,

if i went for a new interior, i'd prob get the same again but in leather, looks the same, feels the saem, is the same except its removable

Re: My Cleaned Euro Stilo

would i say i have had a retrim if i put £20 crap universal covers on, no,
but do i say i had a retrim when i had my seats removed, trimmed, and made in to removable covers.. yes

You know aswell as i do, that a re-trim is when you have your seats perminantly coverd in another material.

People say that they have had a re-trim because everyone knows its expensive, which is what you have fooled people into believing.

You remind me of a chap i know called derm....

not taking sides mate, but the main feature of a seat cover is so its removeable, if you can remove yours then yours are just very expensive seat covers, made for the car ...

So if seat covers are permantly left on is it a re-trim

Not really as I'd doesn't sound like these and be just 'removed' in a few sec like most seat covers can be.

Why are you hi-jacking Coyles thread then? Go make your own, and if your last one was locked, find out why ;)

EDIT, think your getting confused, in your pic I see a Punto, not a Stilo

Re: My Cleaned Euro Stilo

i agree burtz, but atticus is trying to say i got cheap covers and told people it was an expensive retrim, which i didn't. Im not bothered if i have a cheaper option if it looks exactly the same.

My seats were removed from my car, a pvc cover was cut out, and handstitched, using my seats as the template, just as is done in a "retrim"
they were then fitted to the seats.. as is done in "a retrim" but then instead of stitching them on, they were attached using a series of small metal hooks, which were positioned so they fitted on the metal underside of the seat.

anyone who took the time to ask, which a few on here have, have been honestly answered. and if it was at a show, when my car was present, i have showed them.
I dont mind that i have a cheaper version of something which does the same job i wanted it to do. it just leaves more money to spend on other things.

Re: My Cleaned Euro Stilo

atticus, you said "in my profiile" i said i have red leather retrim.. i didnt realise this thread was now classed as my profile, thank you for pointing that out,
if you would care to visit my Garage, which is actually the vehicles profile you will see the info you are after

Re: My Cleaned Euro Stilo

My thread isnt locked mate.

Lets look at the facts.

1. these are not leather as he claims them to be.
2. They have the origonal seat material underneath the 'covers'
3. it cost him £580, surely if he had a proper full retrim it could cost £1000+ like everyone else, plus extra for making them 'special removable ones'.

it cost me £580 because i removed my seats, provided the material, and refitted the seats

Correct i drive a punto, my thread states correct information about my car.

And is not locked.

Anything else you care to add?

im was just clearing this matter up as it seems to be the topic of a few discussions.

Well it was written as though it was about your car.

I later noticed that you were trying to quote Coyle, and we do have a quotation function for this purpose on this forum ;)

glad you cleared it up mate, i dont think it can have been the topic of that many discussions surely, everyone that was genuinely bothered could of asked me, like quite a few people did, and i would have been happy to tell..
i certainly didnt think "oh no, what if atticus doesnt think im cool because my retrimmed seats are removable"

but like i say, thanks for clearing it up

Re: My Cleaned Euro Stilo

This got abit out of hand.

I was merely asking because im having to pay £350 just for some small door cards to be trimmed, and someone said that you had a full re-trim for £600.

Its nothing to do with you being cool mate as the car is nice regardless of interior.

But surely you can agree that for someone who paid thousands for a re-trim, its slightly annoying for someone else to say that they have a re-trim when its not.
